Parent Coaching
As a coach, I work one-on-one with parents across the U.S. to help them build the skills they need to reconnect with their children. I frequently work with parents of:
Young children who have frequent tantrums, emotional outbursts, or Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) traits
Teens who are withdrawn, defiant, anxious, disconnected, or struggling with school, motivation, or family conflict
Young adults who are estranged from their families, struggling to launch into adulthood, or having difficulty becoming independent
Children and teens navigating divorce, blended families, and changing family relationships.
What Is Parent Coaching?
Parent coaching helps parents develop effective strategies for raising emotionally healthy, responsible children and teens. Unlike counseling, parent coaching is educational and skill-based. Rather than treating a mental health diagnosis, coaching focuses on helping you solve current parenting challenges, strengthen family relationships, and build lasting parenting skills. My Approach
I combine Positive Discipline and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help parents:
Reduce power struggles and improve cooperation
Set clear, respectful boundaries
Respond calmly instead of reacting emotionally
Increase connection while maintaining authority
Encourage responsibility, resilience, and independence
Parent according to their values—even during stressful moments
Navigate the unique challenges of adolescence and young adulthood
Every family is different. I tailor coaching to your child's temperament, developmental stage, and your family's goals, providing practical tools you can begin using immediately.
My Training
I am a certified Positive Discipline parent educator. Positive Discipline is a respectful, relationship-centered approach that helps parents replace power struggles with connection, cooperation, and effective leadership.
In addition, I have special training in blended families and am trained in the fundamentals of parent coordination through the Association of Family and Reconciliation Courts.
